Ford Recalls Over 90,000 Vehicles Due to Faulty Engine Intake Valves

Ford is recalling more than 90,000 vehicles from several models due to issues with engine intake valves that could break while driving, increasing the risk of an accident.

The recall affects the Ford Bronco, Ford Edge, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, and other models, all from the 2021-2022 model years. These vehicles are equipped with 2.7-liter or 3.0-liter Nano EcoBoost engines. To date, no injuries or accidents have been reported in connection with this defect.

Ford notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the recall on August 2024. Dealers will be informed by the end of this month, and customers will receive a notification by mail in early October. Authorized dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and, if necessary, replace the engines at no cost to the owners. Ford will also provide delivery, pickup, and rental services while repairs are being made.

Owners who have already paid for related repairs may be eligible for reimbursement, as outlined in the recall plan submitted to the NHTSA.

For more information, owners can contact their nearest dealership.
